Carrying forward TAKE A NOTE’s minimalist design language, this A5-sized planner is created around the idea of “The Perfect Rhythm for Thinking and Writing.” It offers just the right amount of space for detailed planning and note-taking, while remaining portable enough to carry with ease.

The jury praised its subtle grid system, which prevents a cluttered appearance despite the wealth of functions. They also highlighted how the layout creates a writing environment that accommodates two approaches: carefully following the detailed structure, or freely customizing it in one’s own way.

We use 68gsm Tomoe River S paper from Japan.

Renowned among writers and fountain pen users, this paper is smooth, lightweight, and resistant to bleed-through. Whether you’re using fountain pens, pencils, or gel pens, every page offers a pleasant and reliable writing experience.

Grids that Balance Freedom and Structure

The 3.5mm grid layout was carefully chosen. It’s compact enough for English writing while offering flexibility for lists, sketches, and quick notes. It provides order without restriction.

Lay-Flat Binding for Effortless Writing

With exposed-thread binding, the planner opens completely flat at 180 degrees. From a desk in the office to a café table, you can begin writing without fighting against the binding.

TAKE A NOTE’s Original Weekly Layout

Praised by the Good Design Award jury, the weekly design combines a mini monthly calendar, mini weekly calendar, two-day-per-page format, and a 24-hour vertical timeline.

All essential information is present, yet the layout remains clear and visually uncluttered.

New for 2026: In the vertical timeline, the highlighted block for lunch break (12:00–1:00) has been removed. Instead, a subtle line now marks 12:00 noon. This adjustment makes the timeline more flexible and better suited for users with different daily routines.

Monthly and Weekly Planning Structure

• Monthly Plans: Includes 16 months of calendars, covering from late 2025 to early 2027, with page references to weekly spreads for easy navigation.
• Holiday and Calendar Information: Both monthly and weekly pages feature moon phases, and the layout uses gray for weekdays and gold for weekends, making it easy to distinguish workdays from holidays at a glance.
• Weekly Plans: Two days per page, four pages per week, with a full 24-hour vertical timeline. Each spread also includes mini monthly and mini weekly calendars for quick reference.
• Weekday Display: Days are displayed in English (Mon–Sun).

Organized Index System

Each page is numbered, allowing you to build your own index system or use it alongside bullet journaling methods. This makes it easier to track scattered notes and transform the planner into a personal knowledge management tool.
